Music Box Stage Play 音乐盒舞台剧 will be organized at Shah Alam Performing Arts Centre (SPAC) on 28 February 2017.

After touring the country with ten Moonlight stage play performances in 2016, Future Entertainment & Music Group Australia has decided to produce a new stage play, Music Box, and perform it around the world.

The previous stage play, Moonlight, had broken the rules of traditional stage play, which present with film technique. In supplementing the stage play with an LED stage and a high quality stereo system, the story’s settings and surroundings were made more lifelike, and the audience was able to experience the story in a more interactive way. Many viewers praised the new approach. As a result, Music Box will be performed with the same technology to give both Malaysia and the world’s performing arts community a glimpse of this new art form.

Based on a true story, Music Box’s main character is portrayed by Jessie Chung, while the three male characters are portrayed by Vernon Tee, actor of the film Unchanging Love and the stage play Quatrain of Seven Steps, Marcus Choot, actor of the stage plays Moonlight and Quatrain of Seven Steps, and Tylor Chen, actor of the film Kungfu Taboo, Unchanging Love, and Moonlight.

Music Box’s plotline incorporates Jessie Chung’s life journey and elements extracted from the experiences she had with three different individuals in her life: her ex-fiance, her husband Joshua Beh, and her father. Music Box’s plot-line is quite a roller-coaster, and the relationships between the characters get tangled up. To give the audience an unprecedented viewing experience, the director also asked Jessie Chung’s ex-fiance to portray one of the main characters in the play.

Jessie Chung plays Shuang Shuang, a young teenager who loses her mother during childhood. As the cards of her life slowly revealed themselves, three men’s love and affection for her pulled her down into a messy whirlpool. Faced with the conflict between family, friends, and lovers, what will Shuang Shuang do? Music Box is a gripping story that will strike and sensitize the viewer’s soul, and allow the audience to appreciate the unpredictability of affection through the laughter and tears of the story. Life is a music box, beautiful melodies are only created when it is opened.

Music Box, which fundraisers for cancer patients, is a Future Entertainment & Music Group Australia production organized by the Malaysia Naturopathic Association, directed by Brian Choot, and produced by Joshua Beh. Music Box will debut on 5th Jan 2017 at the Shah Alam Performing Arts Centre (SPAC).
