CYCLING TASKS


TASK 1 – TRACK YOUR RIDE:
  • Track your outdoor cycling using a GPS device (track using KM)
  • Submit screenshot of your results via Ticket2u as proof that you have achieved the target cycling distance.


TASK 2 - CELEBRATE YOUR ACHIEVEMENT!
  • Celebrate and share your ride achievement to your public social media account feed with photos from your ride.
  • Post a picture of you with your bicycle that shows you wearing your cycling safety attire and equipment (bell, light, helmet and etc.) on your public social media account with the hashtag #bikedayMY2021 #(your bib no) #roadsafetyMY #besafe #bealert #beseen and stand a chance to win a special prize.
  • Please ensure your Facebook/ Instagram/ Twitter account settings is set to public.
  • The more you post, the higher your chances to win the special prize!

TASK 3 – TEST YOUR KNOWLEDGE:
  • Complete the road safety quiz upon submission of Task 1.

TASK 4 – BONUS TASK:
  • Snap pictures / videos of the following while you cycle:
    • Cycling infrastructure – e.g. cycling lanes
    • Road infrastructure – e.g. wide roads / potholes / etc.
    • Safe / unsafe cycling acts which you observe – e.g. cycling in groups / cycling alone / safe cycling attire / cycling equipment / etc.

Rename your pictures / videos using your Ticket number.

  1. World Bicycle Day Virtual Ride 2021 is organized by Kelab MIROS (a registered club under the Malaysian Institute of Road Safety Research – MIROS).
  2. Open to all nationalities residing in Malaysia.
  3. Cyclists aged 18 years and under must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
  4. Open to all types of bicycles (including e-bikes).
  5. Cyclists can complete their 40km-course by accumulating the distance of multiple rides (From 03 June 2021 until 02 July 2021).
  6. Cyclists who fail to complete the ride and / or submit their result will not receive any finisher entitlement.
  7. Use any cycling tracking apps to track your cycling progress.
  8. Cyclists must undertake safety measures during cycling.
  9. Cyclists are prohibited from cycling on highways and narrow / busy roads.



LIABILITY & RESPONSIBILITY


  1. By signing up for and providing any information, personal or otherwise, in order to gain access to any product(s) and/or service(s) and/or participate in any programme(s), event(s), talk(s), demonstration(s) or any other activities involving the Organiser and/or the Virtual Event sponsors (the “Sponsors”), the Participant is deemed to have given explicit permission for the Organiser and the Sponsors to collect, analyse, collate, share, disclose to third parties, sell and/or otherwise use without any liability to the Participant, any personal information relating to that Participant as may in its sole discretion deem fit, including without any limitation for its programmes, planning, data-processing and statistical or risk-analysis, research, fund-raising and/or any other purposes in furtherance of the functions. The Organiser and the Sponsors declare by virtue of being the Virtual Event owner or sponsor, they can use services of third parties:
    • For storing data;
    • For development or implementation of programmes, products or services as it may deem necessary;
    • For outsourcing of any programme(s), event(s), talk(s), demonstration(s) and/or any activities;
    • For promotional, marketing and/or administrative purposes;
    • For all purposes as required by law, including without limitation court proceedings, criminal investigations or prosecutions or where so ordered by any competent authority;
    • In connection with any proposed novation, assignment, transfer, sale, lease, license, partnership, joint-organising and/or any collaboration where and when required in relation thereto.
  2. Completion of the official entry form, including online registration, confirms the Participant’s agreement to abide by these Rules and Regulations and the Privacy Policy.
  3. The Organiser reserves the right to modify or substitute any of these Rules and Regulations and the Privacy Policy from time to time as they deem fit. If there is ambiguity in any of the provisions, the Organiser shall be the authority to interpret and in doing so, the Organiser will take into account the interests of all the affected Participants. It is the responsibility of the affected Participant to keep abreast of any changes. Please check the Official Website regularly for updated Rules and Regulations and the Privacy Policy.
  4. In consideration of the Participant’s use of the Official Website, the Participant agrees to:
    • Provide true, accurate, current and complete information contained in any registration form (such information being the “Registration Data”);
    • Maintain the security of the Participant’s password and identification; and
    • Maintain and promptly update the Registration Data to keep it true, accurate, current and complete. The Organiser may contact the Participant from time to time by email and/or mobile device. Any notice sent to the email address and mobile device registered with the Organiser shall be deemed as received by the Participant. If the Participant provides any information that is untrue, inaccurate, not current or incomplete, or the Organiser has reasonable grounds to suspect that such information is untrue, inaccurate, not current or incomplete, the Organiser may suspend or terminate the Participant's registration and refuse the Participant any and all future use of the Official Website (or any parts thereof).
  5. The Organiser reserves the right to cancel or postpone the Virtual Event at any time without prior notice to Participants, in which case the Organiser will make effort to inform Participants prior to the date of the Virtual Event. If the Virtual Event has to be cancelled or postponed, there shall be NO REFUND in whole or part unless the Organiser deems fit to give a refund. The Organiser, Sponsors and Affiliates (defined below) shall not be held liable for any loss or inconvenience caused. The “Affiliates” shall include the Virtual Event co-organisers, co-sponsors, partners, volunteers, and any entity or person that provided products or services for the Virtual Event and Virtual Event activities.
  6. There will be strictly no refund available if the Virtual Event is cancelled for reason of force majeure i.e. due to occurrence of incidents that are beyond the control of the Organiser or acts of God which renders it impossible or unsafe to hold the Virtual Event.
  7. The Organiser reserves the right to change the start time or format of the Virtual Event. In the event of a change of start time or format, Participants will be notified of the revised start time or format with as much notice as reasonably practicable. No refund in whole or part shall be made for any change in start time or format of the Virtual Event.
  8. Participants take part solely at their own risk and the Organiser, Sponsors and Affiliates will not be responsible or held liable for any injury, damage, death or other loss howsoever arising from training for, before, during, or after participation in the Virtual Event.
  9. The Organiser reserves the right to use any photographs (including those of Participants), motion pictures, recordings, or any other media records of the Virtual Event (including any programme(s), event(s), talk(s), demonstration(s) or any other activities associated before, during or after the Virtual Event, for any legitimate purpose including commercial advertising, publicity purposes and distribution to Sponsors anywhere in the world.
  10. The Organiser reserves the right to limit and/or refuse entry to the Virtual Event and/or other programme(s), event(s), talk(s), demonstration(s) or any other activities involving the Organiser and the Sponsors without giving any reason and/or notice.
  11. The Organiser will not entertain nor be in any way responsible for any disputes arising from incomplete or inaccurate entry details in the registration form.
  12. The Organiser reserves the right to cancel and/or add any race category without prior notice to Participants.
