The legend of Mat Chinchang and Mat Raya, or how two of Langkawi’s highest peaks got their names, gets a fresh re-telling with Walimaturus – The Wedding Banquetan immersive dinner theatre production by Suatukala that will debut in Langkawi on December 9 & 10, 2022. 

Headlining the production are three of KL’s well-known stars in theatre and comedy–Razif Hashim, Papi Zak and Kuah Jenhan, who will be supported by an ensemble cast of Langkawi talent.

All proceeds from the event will go towards funding Suatukala's community arts initiatives among the youth and children of Langkawi.

Tickets are inclusive of dinner. Those who wish to donate tickets can also purchase them on the site and forward their tickets to Suatukala for distribution to the youth and children of Langkawi from underprivileged families.

Those who wish to donate their tickets to our local community can do so by e-mailing [email protected] with the soft copy of your tickets and a note stating your consent for your ticket to be donated. Donated tickets will be distributed through our network of youth, children and their families in Langkawi who have participated in our past projects.

Suatukala

Suatukala is a community-based, not-for-profit initiative that promotes story-telling in any form among the youth and children of Langkawi. We collaborate with established and up-and-coming artists from Kuala Lumpur and beyond to conduct workshops and performances in Langkawi with and for our local community.Since its inception in 2015, Suatukala has impacted over 1000 workshop participants and spectators across a diverse spectrum of the arts including photography, spoken word poetry, theatre, visual illustration & animation.
