Details

Established percussion and drums group FrhythmS Percussions will be presenting two performances of 兔击检查 / RARE-Beats, a  percussion improvisation performance coupled with visual projections and dance that promise to be an unforgettable experience. This show will feature sound artist Kent Lee, Borneo Sape artist Evan Lee, visual artist Faris Nasir, and a choreographer all the way from India- Nitin.

About the Performers:

Kent Lee

Kent Lee is a self-taught sound artist and musician currently working in Kuala Lumpur. Kent delves in different disciplines of artistic practices, he is gravitating towards the experimental side of music — blending acoustics sounds with electronic gadgetry favouring improvisations over rigid compositions.

Kent has composed, recorded, and performed for dance and musical theatre productions, including the award-winning Seni Tiga’s multidisciplinary performance “Impermanence,” (Malaysia) which also won him the awards of the Best Music & Sound Design at the 16th BOH Cameronian Arts Awards 2019.


Evan Anak Borneo

Anak Borneo is an independent songwriter and music producer that previously a vocalist from Kitai Anak Borneo (KAB), a band that makes contemporary music with Sarawakian cultural fusion.

The music genre of Anak Borneo is mainly world music, alternative rock, and progressive music with traditional music fusion. The contents of his production are mostly related to daily life, environmental issues and issues of the natives.


Faris Nasir & Vuevossa Visuals

Vuevossa Visuals is a visual art project focusing on 2D and 3D fractals. The person behind the project is Faris Nasir, a multi-disciplinary artist based in Malaysiawhose main art medium is soap bubble; bubbleology.

In his 10 years’ experience internationally performing with bubbles, he dove deeper into soap bubble science and discovered the world of fractals, repeating patterns of different scales that can be found in many fields from music, science, economy to nature.


Nitin

Nitin has imbibed the finer details of the art form in the short span of time. He has emerged a sensitive and refined thinker young dancer of his generation. He has participated in several prestigious dance and music festivals in India and abroad.
