ORAL CANCER RUN is an annual mega activity organized by UKM's Dental Student Association (UKMDENSTA) that will be held on 15th February 2015 at Taman Tasik Perdana, Kuala Lumpur. Not only to introduce UKMDENSTA and Faculty of Dentistry, UKM to the public which is one of our main objective, ORAL CANCER RUN also conducted in order to raise funds that later will be donated to Cancer Research Initiative Foundation (CARIF), a non-government body that is actively doing research about breast, familial, mouth and nasopharynx cancer, which is among of the highest percentage of cancer occurrence in Asia. Besides that, this programme also supports government efforts as in line with current #fitmalaysia campaign that introduced by the Ministry of Youth and Sports, Tuan Haji Khairy Jamaluddin Abu Bakar. To produce students that are aware and care about the needs of unprivileged people thus cultivate the awareness to help other people are also one of the objectives that we want to achieve throughout this programme.
This event aims to bring all people despite different types of gender or cultures together to contribute in supporting for more high-technology research can be done by CARIF in order to cure people who are suffering from cancers. Let's join the fight, one step at a time !
Participants' entitlement : Runner T-shirt, medal, goodie bag and light breakfast.
All participants who successfully complete the route will be awarded a finisher’s medal upon presentation of their running bib to the respective officials at the medal collection counter. All finisher’s medals must be collected on race day. No request thereafter will be entertained.
There will be water stations available along the route of the run.
Whilst every reasonable precaution will be taken by the Organizer to ensure the participants’ safety, participants run at their own risk and the Organizer will not be responsible or held liable for any injury or death however arising from training for or during participation in the race.
Participants are strongly encouraged to go for a medical examination and/or consult medical practitioner prior to registration and before the actual race day.
Medical personnel have the sole and final authority to:-
i) Remove a participant from the event if the participant is judged to be physically incapable of continuing the route without risk of serious injury.
ii) To send casualty to the nearest and/or recommended hospital.
iii) It is the responsibility of every participant to ensure that they are fit and healthy enough to complete the run.
Participants partake in this event at their own risk and the Organizers shall not be liable for any bodily injuries, loss and/or damage to property, whether personal or otherwise, and howsoever arising.
The Event Owner and Organizer will not be liable for the actions of participants or others, not employed by or acting on their behalf.
