Acute Coronary Syndrome (ACS) is one of the most common diseases in the country, affecting a younger population here as compared to the Western countries (NCVD, 2014). Therefore, each and every pharmacist should be aware of the pharmacotherapy management of patients with ACS, in order to give the best care to our patients.

This talk will cover the basic principles of acute pharmacological management of ST- Elevation Myocardial Infarction (STEMI), Non STEMI (NSTEMI) and Unstable Angina, focusing on pre and post reperfusion strategies; as well as secondary prevention pharmacotherapy in ACS patients. These will be discussed based on available evidences and clinical practice guidelines, as well as examples drawn from past practice experiences.
