Details

The Plant Genomics Congress Asia, organized by the Global Engage will take place in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The conference will cover areas like plant sciences, next generation sequencing, genomics, epigenetics, bioinformatics and data management . Some prominent speakers include John Manners, Rob Martienssen, Dave Edwards, Tomohiro Ban, Han Zhao, Wen-Hsiung Li, Sachiko Isobe, Graham King, Ryan Lister, Yuan-Ming Zhang, Kenneth Olsen, Sean Mayes, Yue-Ie Hsing, Steve Haber, Charles Chen.

The successful event which was attended by over 200 people in 2014, is the sister meeting to the American meeting which drew 200 experts earlier this year and the European Plant Genomics Congress which took place in London and had over 285 registered attendees.

Attracting experts working in all areas of plant sciences including next generation sequencing, genomics, phenomics, proteomics, bioinformatics and data management, the conference will examine the latest NGS platforms and Omic technologies suitable for progressing plant based research.

The event focuses on aspects such as molecular marker development, breeding, crop/ trait improvement, disease/stress resistance, evolution studies and pathology as well understanding tools to overcome bottlenecks and enable successful data analysis and management.

Presentations concentrate on, but are not limited to, regional and model crops such as rice, wheat, maize, barley, soybean, canola/rapeseed, arabidopsis, palm oil, etc in order to attract delegates across Asia Pacific region and beyond.

Plant research has transformed dramatically over the last 5 years as a result of the revolutionary breakthroughs and reduction in cost in sequencing. Many plants have been successfully sequenced and a wide range of biological data sets made available. Plant scientists are therefore making use of state of the art sequencing platforms to help explain biological principals, advance research and therefore enable benefits such as crop improvement / breeding etc. by harnessing the greater understanding of plant genomes.

Should you be either an expert already using NGS for plant analysis with a desire to extend your knowledge or for researchers keen to invest in sequencing / omic technology and looking to learn which platform suits your requirements - the conference will provide an interactive networking forum to answer your queries through a vibrant exhibition room full of technology providers showcasing their technologies and other solutions, expert led case study presentations and interactive Q&A panel discussions examining topics through four separate tracks.

1 - NGS / Omic Technologies for Plant Research
2 - Plant Genomic Case Studies
3 - Bioinformatics, Data Analysis & Management
4 - Plant Genomic Case Studies

The conference fee includes:
- All conference sessions
- Lunches and refreshments
- Access to exhibition room
- All networking forums
- Conference workbook
- e-documentation pack
