PLEASE READ THESE TERMS AND CONDITIONS CAREFULLY BEFORE PARTICIPATING IN THE EVENT AS THEY CONTAIN BINDING LEGAL TERMS AND OBLIGATIONS INCLUDING LIMITATIONS OR EXCLUSION OF OUR LIABILITY. BY PARTICIPATING IN THIS EVENT, YOU ARE DEEMED TO HAVE FULLY READ, UNDERSTOOD AND AGREED TO THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS GOVERNING THIS EVENT.
IF YOU DO NOT AGREE TO ANY OF THESE TERMS AND CONDITIONS, YOU MUST NOT PROCEED TO PARTICIPATE IN THE EVENT.
Terms and Conditions:
1) Each individual who registers to participate in Diabetes Fun Run ("the Event") (and, where applicable, in the case of a participant below the age of 18 years, the participant's parent, guardian or legal representative) ("Participant") declares and acknowledges to have read, understood and agreed to the Terms below and undertakes to comply with and be bound by the same.
2) Diabetes Fun Run ('Event') is owned by Beat The Sweet ('Organiser').
3) The Event will be held on 17th August 2024 ("Date"). The Organiser reserves the right to postpone or cancel the Event at any time.
4) The Organiser reserves the right to modify or substitute any of these Terms and Conditions from time to time as it deems fit. If there is ambiguity in any of the provisions, the Organiser shall be the authority to interpret and in doing so, the Organiser will take into account the interests of all the affected Participants. Any updates on the Terms and Conditions will be notified on the official Event’s Facebook page [https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=61561047814207], and it is the responsibility of all Participants to keep abreast with any changes. Participants are encouraged to visit [https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=61561047814207] at regular intervals.
Eligibility:
4.1 The Event is open to all and each participant attends the Event on his or her own free will.
4.2 The 5 KM run category is open to participants of age 12 years old and above.
4.3 The 2 KM run category is open to participants with diabetes background or age 12 years old and above.
4.4 Participants of age 18 years old and below MUST be accompanied by at least ONE adult participant of 18 years old and above of the same category who will always be responsible for their safety. Do take note, NO entitlements will be given to participants for FREE participation.
5) The Organiser reserves the right to use any photographs (including those of Participants), motion pictures, recordings, or any other media records of the Event, for any legitimate purpose including commercial advertising and distribution to the Organiser.
6) Prizes Winners:
6.1 Winners shall personally present to collect their prizes after the race upon the announcement of results. All uncollected prizes will be forfeited.
6.2 The Organiser reserves the right to request for the winners’ name for verification before the prize giving ceremony.
6.3 Once registration is completed, there shall be no transfer of ownership. The event organizer reserves the right to forfeit prizes if registered runners fail to attend or participate in the event on the designated day.
7) Flag-off time will be announced upon the approval of authorities.
8) Each participant is entitled to have a stevia growing kit after completing the run on the event day.
Registration:
1) By signing up for and providing any information, personal or otherwise, to gain access and to participate in the Event or any activities relating to the Event, the participant is deemed to have given express permission to the Organiser and Event partners and sponsors (if any) to use such personal information for marketing, statistical and planning purposes.
2) Registration for the Event is only confirmed upon successful payment made and issuance of a verification code via email.
3) The Organiser reserves the right to contact the participant from time to time by any means. Any notice sent to the email address registered with the Organiser shall be deemed as received by the participant.
4) If a participant provides any information that is untrue, inaccurate, outdated, or incomplete, the Organiser may suspend or terminate the participant's registration and refuse any and all current or future use of any components of the Event. There will be no fee refund upon such suspension or termination of the participant's registration.
5) The Organiser will not entertain or be in any way responsible for any disputes arising from incomplete or inaccurate Registration Data in the Event registration form completed by the participant.
6) Participant must state #BEATTHESWEET as the payment reference when making payment.
7) Once the participant’s registration has been duly processed, there will be no refund for any participant who does not eventually take part in the Event for whatever reason.
8) All T-Shirt measurements are subject to +/-0.5 inch tolerance.
9) All colour, design and material of merchandise are subject to change without notice.
10) Registration duration starts from 10 July 2024 until 26 July 2024.
11) There will be no refund on registration fees if the Event is cancelled for reason of force majeure i.e., due to occurrence of incidents that are beyond the control of the Organiser (including but not limited to haze, storm, rain, inclement weather, wind, act of God, terrorism, or other conditions) and which in the Organiser's opinion, renders it impossible or unsafe to hold the Event.
12) There will be STRICTLY NO COLLECTION after the race entry pack collection (REPC). Only 1 REPC session in TBA. If you are unable to attend during REPC, you may assign another person to collect on behalf with the proof of name, phone number and verification code.
Liability & Responsibility:
1) Participants must follow the respective Run Route and direction of the Event marshals, security and traffic officers.
2) Pets, bicycles, in-line skates, prams, push carts, shoes with built-in or attached rollers and any other wheel-run objects are not allowed on the Event and Run course.
3) The Organizer reserves the right to amend the Run Route as they deem fit for the safety of the Participants and/or to prevent any potential hazards.
4) A Participant must retire from the Event immediately, if required to do so by the Organizer, officer of the Event, any member of the Event’s official medical staff or security officer.
5) Bib given to the participants during the Entry Pack Collection or event day are compulsory to be always worn during the Event. Entry will be prohibited otherwise.
6) While every reasonable precaution will be taken by the Organiser to ensure the participants safety, participants attending the event are solely at their own risk and the Organiser will not be responsible or held liable for any injury or death however arising from training for, during or after participation in the Event.
7) Participants are strongly encouraged to go for a medical examination and/or to consult their medical practitioner prior to registration and before the actual Event day.
8) Participants are fully aware of and understand the risks involved for participation in the event and accept full responsibility and assume all such risks, including but not limited to the possibility of slips and falls, contact with other participants, effects of the weather, traffic and conditions of the road, personal injuries and accidents.
9) It is the sole responsibility of every participant to inform the medical staff/safety marshal of the session regarding any injury or reason that they cannot exercise.
10) Should any participant feel fatigue, restlessness, or injured at any time during or before the session, they must immediately inform the medical staff/safety marshal and refrain from joining the session.
11) The Organiser cannot be held responsible for lost, damaged or stolen property during the session.
12) The Organiser reserves the right to amend the Rules and Regulations of the Event which will be reflected on the Event's Registration Platform and it is the responsibility of all the participants to keep abreast with any changes.
13) The Organiser reserves the right to change the date, venue or to cancel the Event at any time without prior notice to the participants, in which case the Organiser will make every effort to inform the participants prior to the Date. If the Event must be cancelled, there shall be NO refund of fees and the Organiser shall not be liable for any other loss or inconvenience caused.
14) The Organiser is not responsible for any error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, communications line failure, theft or destruction, unauthorised access to, or alteration of user communications, or any problems or technical malfunction of any telephone network or lines, computer online systems, servers or providers, computer equipment, software, failure of email or traffic congestion on the internet and/or the Event's Official Website.
15) The Organiser reserves the right to seek further clarification and/or remove a Participant’s result if that Participant is found not having covered the entire distance or followed the outlined procedure.
16) Participants are not allowed to throw any rubbish into the lake or perform fishing.
17) The organiser will not be held responsible for any issues relating to parking at the venue, due to losses suffered in the event of break in or vandalism to the vehicles of participants. Proper vigilance must be exercised by all participants when parking their vehicles.
18) Participants must ensure that they have read and understood the Personal Data Protection Notice on the collection, retention, use, disclosure and management of the Participant's personal data. By reading and agreeing to it, Participants agree to authorise and allow the Organiser and/or any of its subsidiary companies to collect, retain, use and disclose the Participant's personal data for the purposes mentioned in the Personal Data Protection Notice.
19) Participants must accept all decisions by the judges appointed by the Organiser with regard to the Event are final and binding on them.
20) All participants who successfully complete the race within the qualifying time will be given a Finisher Medal. No claims will be entertained thereafter.
FAQ:
1) Is Beat The Sweet - Diabetes Fun Run a physical or virtual event?
Beat The Sweet - Diabetes Fun Run is a physical event. The physical event will be held on 17th August 2024.
2) What is the flag off time?
The flag off time will be announced upon approval by the authorities.
3) What happens if I could not complete my run within the qualifying time?
The race will end at 9.30am for both 2km and 5km categories. All registrants must complete their run within this time.
4) Can I register for a group of people?
No, one form is only can be registered for one person.
5) Can I change my distance or category after I have completed my registration?
Unfortunately, you are not allowed to change your distance or category upon completing your registration as well as transferring to other people.
6) How do I know if my registration is successful?
Upon completion of registration, you will receive a confirmation email with the verification code.
7) I have registered but did not receive my confirmation email. What should I do?
If you did not receive your confirmation email, please check your spam, junk, promotions and social folders, or any other tabs in your inbox. If it is not there, please email [email protected] with your full name, contact number and email address used for registration.
8) Do I get a refund if I choose not to participate after completing my registration?
No. Registration fees are strictly non-refundable.
9) I forgot to enter #BEATTHESWEET as the payment reference. What should I do?
Please inform the organiser via email, Facebook, Instagram or Whatsapp. We will verify the payment status and send the verification code via email once the payment status is confirmed.
Race Entry Pack Collection:
1) What do I need to bring along to collect my Race Pack?
A copy of your confirmation email with verification (both soft and hard copies are accepted)
2) When and where is the Race Entry Pack Collection?
