Enjoy a star-studded line-up with over 16 hours of Ombak Main Stage programming over two days. Highly anticipated acts to look out for include the headliners for 14 September 2024: pop culture icon Grace Jones, who will be delivering an Asia-exclusive performance, alongside Swedish band The Cardigans, who will be playing their global smash hits for the first time in Malaysia. Grammy winner and R&B Hall of Famer Macy Gray, who is celebrating the 25th anniversary of her debut album, and six-time Grammy Award winner Nile Rodgers & CHIC will headline at the Ombak Main Stage on 15 September 2024. Other acts on the Ombak Main Stage include rapper Joe Flizzow and R&B artist Alextbh.
Some of the biggest names in the regional music scene, including Alena Murang, Thee Marloes, and Aisyah Aziz, are joining the line-up across the multiple stages at the Ombak Festival. Prolific British DJ and producer Quantic will kick off The Ultimate Weekend at Ember Beach Club, One&Only Desaru Coast, on 13 September 2024. Other acts across the festival weekend include Zainal Abidin, Matilde G, Adrian G, and Sweet Nightmare, who will all take to the Sessions Live Stage at Hard Rock Hotel Desaru Coast, and performances by The Shang Sisters and WVC Jazz, Havan Jazz Tumbao, DJ Güpson Pierre and Disko Santan.
Food & Beverage
Experience Malaysian and international food and beverage offerings across the destination by top chefs and mixologists from the region including Kitchen Takeover by Carbon KL, Latin Street Flavours by Feliz, Food Fiction by REXKL and Flavours of Borneo, tipples crafted by cocktail bars Reka:bar and Vér, with tapas by Chocha Foodstore. Exclusive ticketed events are available for stay package guests and include dining with the stars at the Ombak Supper Club with The Stars by Yellow Fin Horse on 13 September 2024, Fireside Chat and lunch with award-winning author Khir Johari and Chef Adu Amran of ADU Sugar; who will also be cooking up Johor Street Food at Streets & Beats. Other exclusive ticketed events include Ember Beach Club Brunch by Chef Andrew Walsh.
Visual Arts & Crafts
Be mesmerised by installations celebrating Malaysia and regional heritage and art, including Nice Monster’s specially commissioned giant roving puppets depicting Johorean folk tales, fluid metal sculptures by Abdul Multhalib Musa, one of Malaysia’s young leading contemporary sculptures, and participatory Shore Debris Table installation by artist and photographer Ernest Goh of Ayer Ayer. Ombak Festival will also feature two marketplaces – a Southeast Asian fashion and lifestyle collection curated by Dia Guild and local artisanal designs such as batik fashion innovators Kapten Batik at Lokal Market – with offerings that are environmentally and socially conscious and accessible to all.
Ombak Kids
Throughout the weekend, young guests will have a plethora of family-friendly activities to check out through the dedicated Ombak Kids. The programme includes Silent Disco Kids edition, Mereka Garden Games, Junglewalla eco-adventures, Flying Kites, and Sailing Jongs, keeping the young and young at heart engaged and entertained.
