  1. The Carey Heritage Run (the “Event”) is organised by SD Guthrie Berhad (the “Organiser”) in accordance with these T&C, details stipulated in the Event page at www.ticket2u.com.my, and all relevant laws and regulations which are applicable to the participants of the Event (“Participant” or “Participants”).
  2. For the purposes of this Event, the collection, use, disclosure, and management of any personal or other information provided by Participants will be governed by the Organiser’s Privacy Policy available at www.sdguthrie.com/privacy-notice. Participants are expected to read and understand the Privacy Policy which details the Organiser’s practices regarding the handling of personal information in compliance with applicable data protection laws. By participating in the Event, Participants agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy, which forms an integral part of these T&C.
  3. The Organiser reserves the right to modify or substitute any of these T&C and the Privacy Policy from time to time at its sole discretion without prior notice to the Participants. If there is ambiguity in any of the provisions, the Organiser shall be the authority to interpret and in doing so, the Organiser will take into account the interests of all the affected Participants. It is incumbent upon each Participant to periodically review these documents to ensure compliance with the current terms of participation and the Organiser shall not be held liable otherwise.
  4. For the purpose of this Event, the Participants agree to:
    • Provide true, accurate, current and complete information contained in any registration form (such information being the “Registration Data”);
    • Maintain the security of the Participant’s password and identification; and
    • Maintain and promptly update the Registration Data to keep it true, accurate, current and complete. The Organiser may contact the Participants from time to time by email and/or mobile device. Any notice sent to the email address and mobile device registered with the Organiser shall be deemed as received by the Participants. If the Participants provide any information that is untrue, inaccurate, not current or incomplete, or the Organiser has reasonable grounds to suspect that such information is untrue, inaccurate, not current or incomplete, the Organiser may suspend or terminate the Participant's registration in the Event. 
  5. The Organiser reserves the right to cancel or postpone the Event at any time without prior notice to the Participants. In such cases, the Organiser shall endeavour to use reasonable efforts to inform Participants prior to the date of the Event. The Organiser shall not be held liable for any loss or inconvenience caused due to such changes.
  6. In the event of any cancellation or postponement, refunds will not be issued, except under exceptional circumstances at the discretion of the Organiser. There will be strictly no refund available if the Event is cancelled for reason of force majeure events i.e., due to occurrence of incidents that are beyond the control of the Organiser or acts of God which renders it impossible or unsafe to hold the Event.
  7. The Organiser reserves the right to amend the Event format and/or race routes (“Routes”) stipulated in the Event page at www.ticket2u.com.my as the Organiser deems fit for the safety of the Participants and/or to prevent any potential hazards in the running of the Event, at any time. In such cases, the Organiser shall use reasonable efforts to inform the Participants prior to the date of the Event. The Organiser and its Affiliates shall not be held liable for any loss or inconvenience caused due to such changes.
  8. The Organiser reserves the right to use any photographs (including those of Participants), motion pictures, recordings, or any other media records of the Event including any program(s), event(s), talk(s), demonstration(s), or any other activities associated before, during or after the Event, for any legitimate purpose including commercial advertising and publicity purpose.
  9. The Organiser reserves the right to limit and/or refuse entry to the Event and/or other program(s), event(s), talk(s), demonstration(s), or any other activities related to Event and involving the Organiser without giving any reason and/or notice.
  10. While every reasonable precaution will be taken by the Organiser to ensure the safety of Participants, the Participants take part solely at their own risk and the Organiser shall not be responsible or held liable for any injury, damage, contraction of communicable disease, death or any other loss howsoever arising from training for, before, during, or after participation in the Event, to the extent permitted by law. Participants are advised to undergo a medical examination and consult a medical practitioner to ensure they are fit for their participation in the Event.
  11. The Organiser reserves the right to remove any participant whom in the Organiser’s sole opinion, is guilty of jostling, obstructing or involves in act of aggression against another.
  12. The Organiser reserves the right to remove any participant whom in the Organiser’s sole opinion, physically unfit or appears to be unfit or incapable of continuing/completing the Route.
  13. No pets, or any form of wheel-run objects of transport e.g. inline skates, prams, push cars, shoes with built-in or attached rollers is allowed on the Route or in the vicinity of the Route except official race marshals and medical vehicles.
  14. Completion of the registration form confirms the Participant’s agreement to abide by these T&C and the Privacy Policy.
  15. Registration for the race is only confirmed upon payment made and upon issuance of the Participant’s race identification number.
  16. Once registration has been duly processed, there will be strictly no refunds after payment is made, for any reason whatsoever. There will be strictly no refunds for Participants who do not eventually take part in the Event for whatever reason.
  17. The Organiser shall not in any way be responsible for any disputes arising from incomplete or inaccurate entry details in the registration form.
  18. Only 1 entry is allowed for each Participant. Change of category and/or Runner Jersey is not allowed once registration has been completed.
  19. Participants are strictly prohibited from swapping, transferring, selling, or allowing any other person to wear his/her race bib, unless approved by the Organiser.
  20. If the Participant's original race bib cannot be found by the respective staff during Race Kit Collection (“RKC”), the Organiser reserves the right to replace it with a spare race bib. The Organiser reserves the right to amend or substitute any Participant’s race bib at any time without prior notice to the Participant.
  21. The Race Kit includes a race bib and timing chip (applicable only for the 10KM and 21KM categories), a runner’s t-shirt, a finisher t-shirt for 21KM participants, and other sponsored items (if any).
  22. The timing chip is a single-use, disposable device attached to the back of the race bib.
  23. Participants must collect their Race Kits at SD Guthrie Tower, Ara Damansara at the stipulated collection period, of which details will be stated on the Event page at www.ticket2u.com.my.
  24. All Race Kits not collected during collection period will be deemed to be unwanted, and the Organiser shall be at liberty to dispose or re-distribute them accordingly. Race Kits cannot be collected on the day of the Event.
  25. Participants must wear the assigned race bib on the front of his/her jersey. The race bib must be visible on his/her chest at all times. No Participants shall be allowed to start the run nor take part in the Event without displaying the appropriate race bib and/or identification.
  26. It is the responsibility of the Participants to ensure that his/her race bib is not covered with a jacket, pouch bag, his/her arms, or any other object when running over the timing mats. The Organiser reserves the right to disqualify any Participant who does not use his/her assigned race bib during the race.
  27. Any Participant who commences to run before the actual flag-off of his/her registered race category will be immediately disqualified. The start time for the respective race categories can be found on the Event page at www.ticket2u.com.my.
  28. Participants who do not start within 20 minutes of respective flag-offs, for safety reasons may not be allowed to start and will be immediately disqualified.
  29. A Participant must retire from the race immediately, if required to do so by any member of the official medical staff, the Race Director, and/or security officer.
  30. There are 3 distance categories as follows:
    • 21KM (Half Marathon)
    • 10KM (Standard Run)  
    • 5KM (Fun Run)
    • Participants must be a citizen of Malaysia who holds a valid Malaysian Passport / Malaysian Identity Card or Birth Certificate to be eligible to participate in these categories.
  31. 21KM & 10KM Run. A competitive run with four (4) race categories:
    • Men’s Open – 18 years old and above as of Event Day.
    • Women’s Open – 18 years old and above as of Event Day.
    • Men’s Veteran Open – 46 years old and above as of Event Day.
    • Women’s Veteran Open – 46 years old and above as of Event Day.
  32. 5KM Run
    • A fun run for kids aged 13 – 17 years old and adults aged 18 years old and above as of Event Day.
    • There are no winners nor prizes in the 5KM category.
    • Cut-off time to complete the run for this category is 1 hour 30 minutes.
  33. The Organiser reserves the right to cancel and/or add any race category without prior notice to the Participants.
  34. Participants are advised to pack light and avoid from bringing valuable items to the Event.
  35. The Organiser shall not be responsible for any loss and/or damage, personal or otherwise, to the personal belongings and items brought to the Event by the Participants.
  36. The Organiser also reserves the right to conduct reasonable inspection on any item or bag for security purposes.
  37. The “Gun Time” will be used to determine the winners for the 21KM & 10KM category. Only Participants of the 21KM & 10KM category are eligible for prizes.
  38. The “Net Time” will be used to get an overall ranking in 21KM & 10KM categories.
  39. Participants must complete their respective run categories (which they registered for) within the stipulated cut-off times (these are all based off the gun time i.e., the time when the starting gun is fired); otherwise, they will be deemed disqualified or did not finish.
  40. By registering for the Event, Participant agrees that the Organiser has the right to post the full race results on any publication deemed suitable by the Organiser including website and social media platforms after the Event.
  41. Each Participant is allowed to win only 1 prize (where applicable) in the category that he/she has registered for.
  42. Winners or potential winners who do not use his/her assigned race bib will be disqualified.
  43. The Organiser reserves the right to replace any winners if he/she is found to be disqualified for any reason whatsoever, at the Organiser’s sole discretion.
  44. All winners must report to the person in charge at the Prize Giving tent as stipulated on their winner's tag. In case a winner fails to do so, the Organiser may donate the prize to charity.
  45. All winners must present their original identification document (either Passport or Identity Card) for verification purposes.
  46. For winners or potential winners, disputes and appeals must be made within 30 minutes of the published results on the results notice board on-site or immediately after the prize presentation, whichever is earlier, failing which the Organiser reserves the right not to entertain any disputes or appeals thereafter.
  47. For all other Participants, disputes and appeals regarding the results must be submitted in writing including electronic mail ([email protected]) within 3 days after the Event. The Organiser reserves the right not to entertain any dispute or appeals thereafter.
  48. For all disputes, the Organiser's decision is final and no other disputes thereafter will be entertained.
  49. For all other Participants, any discrepancy in their results, must be informed to the Organiser via electronic mail ([email protected]) within 3 days after the official results have been announced/published. No requests for amendment of timing or ranking and follow-ups will be entertained thereafter.
  50. All Participants who successfully complete the race in a category he/she registered for within their respective cut-off times will be given a Finisher Medal and Finisher T-shirt (applicable to 21KM participants only) upon presentation of their race bib to the respective staff. This entitlement will not apply to Participants who were unable to complete the race within their respective cut-off times, disqualified or did not finish.
  51. All Finisher Medals and Finisher T-shirt (applicable to 21KM participants only) are to be collected upon completion of the race and no requests will be entertained thereafter.
