About The Apothecary Diaries

The original novel series of The Apothecary Diaries has surpassed 40 million copies in cumulative sales. The anime adaptation is based on the hugely popular light novel written by Natsu Hyūga and illustrated by Touko Shino.

The story follows Maomao, a young girl from the red-light district who is highly skilled in deduction and possesses extensive knowledge of pharmacology. Originally working as an apothecary in the pleasure quarter, she is abducted by human traffickers while gathering herbs and sold into the imperial inner court as a low-ranking servant (court lady). Her talents are accidentally discovered by Jinshi, the eunuch in charge of managing the inner court.

Relying on her knowledge and skills, Maomao solves various problems within the intrigue-filled imperial palace, gradually building connections and influence while uncovering the hidden truths of the court and revealing its lesser-known side.

Is there any age restriction for this exhibition?
