1. What is the Sandakan Step Challenge 2026?
It is a virtual walking challenge where participants aim to complete 200km or 300,000 steps within one month, at their own pace.
2. When is the challenge period?
1 April – 30 April 2026
Only steps recorded during this period will be counted.
3. When is registration open?
1 February – 31 March 2026
4. Who can participate?
The challenge is open to everyone aged 12 years and above.
Participants below 18 years must have parental or guardian consent.
5. How many steps do I need to complete?
You need to complete 200km or 300,000 steps within the challenge period to qualify as a finisher.
6. Do I need to walk every day?
No.
There is no daily minimum requirement. You may walk and accumulate steps anytime throughout the month.
7. Can I walk at my own pace?
Yes.
You may walk anywhere, anytime, and at your own pace.
8. What device or app can I use to track my steps?
You may use any step-tracking device or mobile application, including:
Smartwatches
Fitness trackers
Mobile phone health apps
9. How do I submit my step records?
Step records are submitted through the official submission platform - read for help https://www.ticket2u.com.my/help/virtualrun
✅ Multiple uploads are allowed
✅ Uploads can be done gradually over time
❌ You do not need to upload all 200km or 300,000 steps at once
10. Can I upload my steps daily or weekly?
Yes.
You may upload:
Steps will be accumulated progressively until you reach 300,000 steps or 200km.
11. What counts as valid proof?
Valid proof includes:
Screenshots from step-tracking apps
Smartwatch or fitness tracker records
Phone health app summaries

12. What if I forget to upload some steps earlier?
You may upload them later, as long as:
13. When is the final submission deadline?
The final submission deadline will be 30 April 11.59pm.
Late submissions will not be accepted.
14. What happens if I don’t complete 300,000 steps?
You will still be considered a participant, but finisher rewards are only given to those who complete 200km or 300,000 steps and submit valid proof.
15. What rewards will I receive if I finish?
Finisher T-Shirt
Finisher Medal
16. Will all participants get a T-shirt?
No.
Only finishers receive the Finisher T-Shirt and Medal.
17. Is the registration fee refundable?
No.
All registration fees are non-refundable and non-transferable.
18. Is this a competitive event?
No.
This is a personal, non-competitive challenge focused on consistency, health, and participation.
19. Is it safe to participate?
Participants are advised to walk within their own physical limits.
The organiser is not responsible for injuries or health issues during participation.
20. Who is organising this challenge?
The Sandakan Step Challenge 2026 is organised by
Persatuan Ortopedik Sandakan and we reserve the rights to amend terms and conditions as deemed necessary.
