The Regional Conference on Solid State Science and Technology (RCSSST) is a well-established biennial conference that brings together academicians, researchers, postgraduate students and industry professionals to share research findings and developments in solid state science and related technologies.
For the 2026 edition, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) will host RCSSST. The conference is organized by the Department of Applied Physics, Faculty of Science and Technology, UKM, in collaboration with the Malaysian Solid State Science and Technology Society (MASS) and the National Nanotechnology Centre (NNC). The conference scope has been expanded to include emerging and interdisciplinary fields such as quantum computing, artificial intelligence and other advanced technologies.
RCSSST2026 aligns with national priorities set by the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MOSTI) and the MADANI Framework by promoting research in nanotechnology, advanced materials, semiconductors, energy technologies and solid-state devices. The conference also contributes to key Sustainable Development Goals, including Quality Education (SDG 4), Affordable and Clean Energy (SDG 7), Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure (SDG 9) and Climate Action (SDG 13).
