The Great Malaya Trail – making its comeback for the 3rd edition, preparing to offer a different type of trail race and a back to nature concept. With the upcoming 3rd edition this 2026, it will definitely provide a total trail route course for the longer distance participants. 


The Great Malaya Trail create a spans the length of Peninsular Malaysia, connecting forests, mountains, villages, and coastal regions into one continuous adventure. Designed to showcase the country’s natural beauty and cultural richness, the trail weaves through national parks, lush rainforests, and traditional kampung landscapes. Participants can experience diverse wildlife, changing terrains, and iconic landmarks while engaging with local communities along the way. The trail promotes eco-tourism and encourages a deeper appreciation for Malaysia’s heritage and environment. Whether tackled in sections or as a full thru-run-hike, the Great Malaya Trail offers a challenging yet rewarding journey that highlights the unique blend of nature, history, and culture that defines the peninsula. The event will start from Selangor and will cross over to Pahang for this latest, promising all participants to have a great adventure along the event route and only tough legs will survive till the end.

  9. *You're required to present the mandatory items:
    1. DURING THE RACE, random checks by officials at any point during the race.
    2. AFTER THE RACE, for result verification.

Failed to comply with the mandatory item will cause:

  • Disqualification from the race or
  • Penalty 30 minutes for each item (max 1 item)

*We will implement bring your own bottle/cup concept (BYOB/BYOC) for this race. So please bring your own portable cup or bottle. We will not provide any disposable cup/bowl at the starting/finishing line and all water stations.

Race Pack Collection

*Please bear in mind there will be no group collection for this event and no collection on behalf is allowed. By registering for this event, you have decided to follow terms as stated including for Race Kit Collection.


     *For race kit collection, please bring along your:

  1. Confirmation slip AND
  2. Identification Card/Passport

**Failed to present these two documents will end up with no race kit collection for you.

Bib transfer, cancellation and categories change

  1. No refund of entry fee once you’ve registered for the race, regardless of any category, in any circumstances.
  2. Changes of Bib name are allowed till 1st July 2026, 10PM with the processing fee of RM100.
  3. All participants are strongly advised not to proceed with the race without the updated runner information on the Race Bib for your insurance coverage and safety reasons.
  4. We allow bib transfer in below conditions:
  5. No changes in tee size
  6. No changes in gender categories
  7. There will be RM100 data fee management imposed for this process.
  8. Transfer can only be done anytime today till 1st August 2026. Please whatsapp 6011-59907850 for further assistance.


Eligibility

  1. This race is open to all Malaysian/Permanent Resident and oversea runners’ age 18 years old and above only.
  2. Participants must complete the race on foot under their own strength.
  3. Participants are required to be semi-self-sufficient. You must always have your mandatory equipment with you during the race.
  4. The Organizer reserves the right to deny entry to any participants.


Pacer / External support

  1. Pacers and support crew are strictly prohibited.
  2. No external support by friends or family is allowed beyond the limits of the official checkpoints.


Medical

  1. There will be medical personnel on standby at the race site and selected Checkpoint (CP) along the route. 
  2. Ambulance services are on standby as well for emergency cases.
  3. Participants are responsible to ensure they are fit and healthy before starting the race. Please consult your doctor if there is any doubt.


Insurance

  1. Participants are to accept the risk associated with the event as per indemnity clause as per registration form.
  2. The organizer will not be responsible for any claim resulting from this event.
  3. It is recommended that you have personal accident insurance or health insurance.


Event Cancellation
The organizers shall reserve the right to cancel or cut short the event for the following reasons: (but not limited to)

  1. Adverse weather conditions (haze, thunderstorm etc.)
  2. Dangerous trail conditions (Landslides, Flood, Tree fallen/fires blockage along the course etc.)
  3. Riot, endemic, government policy change etc.
  4. In such events there is no refund of the registration fee.


Safety

  1. Race bib must always be worn & visible (on the front, chest area) throughout the event. Failing to comply with this term will result in DISQUALIFICATION.
  2. Participants must always stay on the marked course all the time. Short cuts/running off the trails are strictly prohibited.
  3. Participants must always carry all the mandatory items during the event.
  4. If you have noticed marshal vehicles (motorbike / jeep) approaching during the race, please slow down and give way.
  5. Please be cautious as some parts of trail route might be muddy and slippery in condition.
  6. There will be a few river crossings, so it is advised to always stay alert on the official race marker.
  7. Ensure your own safety and that of others. Be considerate of other trails and road users always.
  8. Take great care when crossing or running on roads. If another runner is injured or in distress, please assist.


Dropping Out from The Race

  1. If you decide to withdraw from the event, you go to the nearest CP and tell the checkpoint marshals that you've decided to drop out of the race. The event officials will cut your bib + timing chip and will ask you to remove your race bib. Once you have dropped out of the race, you are not allowed to re-start.
  2. The checkpoint marshals will be able to further guide you on returning to the finishing point or with the race shuttle. Race shuttle costs RM30 per pax and you can pay direct to the driver. Shuttle only moves once the vehicle is full. 
  3. Do take note that not all checkpoints are accessible with race shuttle and even so with a limited time frame. In worst case scenario, you will need to wait until the event ends and go to the event venue together with the CP crew/team.
  4. If you're severely unable to move yourself to the nearest checkpoint, please contact the event emergency number.


Race Timing

There will be timing system and manual checkpoint system at this event.


Result
The results will be out before the prize giving.

For any complaints, please inform secretariat with:

  1. Full details of the complaint. Attached all necessary proof and supporting document(s).
  2. Pay RM300 complaint fee.

Investigation will be done in 10 working days and all result after that will be final.

  1. The Organizer reserves the right to close entries before the deadline without any notice once the race quota is full.
  2. Entry forms will only be processed upon receipt of full payment of entry fee.
  3. The Organizer reserves the right to limit and refuse entries without reason.
  4. The Organizer reserves the right to contact and to interview applicants by phone or otherwise for additional information required for matters relating to their applications.
  5. Entry fees are non-refundable. The Organizer reserves the right to refuse entries once the entry is accepted if any applicants provide false information, do not make the required payment, or fail to meet entry requirements as stated in the entry form.
  6. Should the event be cancelled due to circumstances beyond the control of the Organizer (including heavy rain, thunder storm or disaster, public rally), no refund of the entry fee will be made and the Organizer shall have no further responsibility and/or liability thereafter.
  7. Running is not a ‘free risk’ sport and therefore each runner must ensure his/her health condition is fit before participating and during the race.  Each runner shall be responsible with his/her own health/condition. The Organizer shall be responsible for personal injury or death during or after the race due to gross negligence of the Organizer.
  8. The Organizer reserves the right to disallow/ disqualify any person who is known or suspected to be physically unfit to participate in the event. Should a runner get injured during the race, on case by case basis as recommended by medical team as appointed by the Organizer to monitor the race, such runner may be treated in hospital as designated by the Organizer with a treatment cost not exceeding the amount agreed by the Organizer and the relevant hospital. circumstances.
  9. The organizer and its agents will not be held responsible for any issues relating to parking at the venue.  Participants are advised to follow the instructions given by traffic personnel for proper parking. The organizer and its agent will not be held responsible due to losses suffered in the event of break ins or vandalism to the vehicles of participants.  Proper vigilance must be exercised by all participants when parking their vehicles.


General Rules And Regulations

All participants must agree to the rules and regulations before registering for the race:

  • The minimum age for participation is 5 years old at the date of the event. No pets, or any form of wheel-run objects of transport e.g. inline skates, prams, strollers, push cars, shoes with built-in or attached rollers are not allowed on the course during the race except official race and medical vehicles. Organiser reserves the right to remove participants who fail to adhere to the stipulated rules and regulations from the race route immediately.
  • The Organizer reserves the right to close entries before the deadline without any notice once the race quota is full.

  • The Organizer reserves the right to limit and refuse entries without reason.

Participant Waiver

  1. By participating I/we accept all risks necessarily resulting from my participation, which would result in loss of life or permanent injury. Accordingly, I will not hold liable all people associated with the conduct of events and will release them against all matters arising from my participation in event. For clarification, the people released include event organisers, promoters, sponsors, managers, officers, employees, agents, contractors and volunteers including event medical and paramedical personnel and every personnel invited and asked to be involved in the event by the organisers. This release and indemnity continues forever and binds my heirs, executors, personal representatives, and assignees.
  2. I/we understand that I park my vehicle at my own risk and assume organisers to not hold any responsibility for loss of or damage to my vehicle.
  3. I/we acknowledge that the event involves real risk of serious injuries, or risk of death, from various causes including overexertion, equipment failure, dehydration, accidents with other competitors, spectators, and road users, the course and weather conditions, just to name a few.
  4. I/we understand that I should not participate in the event unless I have prepared appropriately and my physical condition has been verified by a medical practitioner.
  5. I/we understand that the information that I have provided herein will be included in the organizer's database. I also understand that information of a biological nature including my name, date of birth, home state, results, career highlights and interests may be released to the media in response to general requests.
  6. I/we agree to abide by all the Rules of organisers which relate, in part, to safe and fair sporting practices.
  7. I/we grant organisers unconditional rights to use at their discretion photographic pictures and personal information in any form of media, art, advertising, trade, visual documentary, promotional material, merchandise or film coverage of any kind without compensation to me. I also waive the right to inspect and/or approve the finished product or the copy that may be used in connection therewith, or the use to which it may be applied.
  8. I/we have permission from my family and related sport associations to compete in this event.
