Live Sessions (10am–11am MYT):

  • 04 July 2026: Setup & Financial Data Acquisition: Python refresher, navigating Google Colab, fetching & cleaning historical stock data using pandas and yfinance.

  • 11 July 2026: Time Series Analysis & Visualization: Calculating daily returns, volatility, and drawdowns; building financial dashboards with matplotlib and seaborn.

  • 18 July 2026: Portfolio Construction & Risk Metrics: Diversification principles, correlation matrices, Sharpe ratio calculation, and multi-asset portfolio simulation.

  • 25 July 2026: Capstone: Strategy Testing & Prediction: Implementing moving-average crossover logic, backtesting basics, and introductory ML for market forecasting.

Choi Ming Xian is a First Class Honours Software Engineering graduate from Universiti Putra Malaysia with expertise in Python, AI, and financial technology. He recently led the development of AmVerse, an AI-powered personal financial advisor using LLM and RAG architectures in collaboration with AmBank. With professional experience as a Java Developer at Lenovo and a Cloud Presales Engineer at Sangfor Technologies, he bridges robust software engineering with real-world financial data applications. As former Vice President of the UPM Software Engineering Club, he has mentored peers and simplified complex technical concepts for diverse audiences. Passionate about making FinTech accessible, Ming Xian combines hands-on coding with practical market analytics to empower learners with industry-ready data skills.

  2. Sessions run at fixed dates and times. If students withdraw midway or fail to attend some classes due to the change of timings, partial refunds will be made to the respective students upon the requests. Successful partial refunds will be made after checking the attendance data.

  3. No refund would be made if you have lost the tickets (which contains the meeting link). 


Additional Fee

  1. An additional fee of RM5 will be applied for each request to issue a digital certificate with a credential ID, unless the error was made by FINTLAS. We kindly advise you to ensure that the correct name is submitted for printing on the digital certificate.
