The Penang Philharmonic Orchestra is pleased to present a special chamber music recital by distinguished faculty members and artists from the Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music, National University of Singapore. The programme features two remarkable works from Hungary's rich musical tradition: Ernő Dohnányi's Piano Quintet No. 2 in E-flat minor, Op. 26 and Béla Bartók's Piano Quintet in C major. Together, these works trace the evolution of Hungarian music from late Romantic lyricism to the bold and innovative musical language that would shape the twentieth century.

Led by internationally acclaimed pianist Albert Tiu and violinist Qian Zhou, together with violinist Chen Yun Li, violist Zou Zhang, and cellist Wang Zihao, the ensemble brings together some of the region's finest chamber musicians. Audiences can look forward to an afternoon of passionate artistry, virtuosic performance, and rarely heard masterpieces that showcase the depth, colour, and expressive power of the piano quintet repertoire.
