FREEDOM 250 RUN

The Freedom 250 initiative marks the global celebration of the 250th anniversary of the signing of the United States Declaration of Independence, honoring 250 years of American history, democratic ideals, innovation, and cultural evolution, while looking toward the future.

In Malaysia, this milestone will be celebrated through America Day Sabah, a vibrant event in Kota Kinabalu that highlights the longstanding partnership between the United States and Malaysia.

The celebration will feature a rich array of cultural, educational, and community-focused activities, including interactive exhibitions, performances, and engagement programs showcasing American culture, innovation, and shared values.

As part of the wider Freedom 250 roadshow across Malaysia, America Day Sabah aims to unite communities and strengthen people-to-people connections.

CATEGORY

• Participants must register according to gender.
• There is no age group for this event as it is a Fun Run.
• Participants must be at least 10 years old as of 3 September 2026 (i.e. born on or before 3 September 2016).
• Participants aged 13 years and below MUST be accompanied by a parent, guardian, or responsible adult throughout the event.
• The Organiser reserves the right to deny participation to any participant aged 13 years and below who is not accompanied by a parent, guardian, or responsible adult.

REFUND

• No refunds will be entertained once full payment is received.
• Confirmed registrations are not transferable to other person(s).

RISK

• By entering this event, Participants acknowledge they are physically fit and able to participate in the event.
• By completing the registration form, Participants agree to these Terms & Conditions and indemnify the Organiser, management, sponsors, employees and associates involved in this event directly or indirectly against all liability for any and all injury, loss or damage connected with the Participant’s participation in the event.
• The Organiser shall not be held liable for any injury, loss, damage, or other incident involving a participant aged 13 years and below who participates without the required parent, guardian, or responsible adult.

All runners will get the followings:

• Event T-shirt for all registered participants
• Finisher’s medal for all registered participants who finishes the run within the stipulated time
• Participation Certificate 
• Goodie bag

Important information

• For security reasons the Police, Dewan Bandaraya Enforcement Agency, Officials and Course Marshalls will not allow runners without a running bib. They will be stopped and taken off the course immediately for further action. 
• There will be NO medal replacement for lost/stolen medals after the event.
• There will be NO swapping of sizes (event tee) during Race Pack Collection, at the finishing line or after the event.

ORGANISER

• Freedom 250 Run is presented by the U.S. Embassy Kuala Lumpur.
• The Organiser reserves the right to amend the Terms & Conditions at any time at its sole discretion without any prior notice.
