JB NEON X UTM FUN RUN

GENERAL INFORMATION

• JB Neon x UTM Fun Run is organised by the Institution of Chemical Engineers (IChemE) UTM Student Chapter (UTMSC) in collaboration with Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) and Johor Bahru City Council (MBJB).

• The Event aims to promote a healthy lifestyle while raising awareness.

• By registering for the Event, participants acknowledge that they have read, understood, and agreed to abide by these Terms & Conditions, as well as any rules, guidelines, or instructions issued by the Organisers.

• Participants are responsible for providing true, accurate, current, and complete information during registration. The Organisers reserve the right to reject or cancel any registration containing false, misleading, or incomplete information.

• Participants may be contacted via email, telephone, or official social media platforms regarding event updates. Any notice sent through the contact information provided during registration shall be deemed received.

• The Organisers reserve the right to amend these Terms & Conditions at any time without prior notice should circumstances require.

REGISTRATION

• Registration is open to individuals who meet the eligibility requirements specified by the Organisers.

• Registration will only be confirmed upon successful submission of the registration form and full payment of the registration fee (where applicable).

• Registration fees are strictly non-refundable and non-transferable, except at the sole discretion of the Organisers.

• Participants are not permitted to transfer, sell, or exchange their registration with another individual after confirmation.

• The Organisers reserve the right to limit the number of participants or refuse any registration without assigning any reason.

• Participants below 18 years of age must obtain consent from a parent or legal guardian before registering.

• The Organisers shall not be held responsible for disputes arising from incorrect or incomplete registration details submitted by participants.

EVENT RULES

• JB Neon x UTM Fun Run will be held on the date, time, and venue announced by the Organisers.

• Participants are encouraged to arrive at least 30 minutes before the official flag-off for registration verification and event briefing.

• Every participant must wear the official race bib or identification issued by the Organisers throughout the Event.

• Participants must follow the designated route and comply with all instructions given by Event Officials, Marshals, Volunteers, Security Personnel, and relevant authorities.

• Participants must display good sportsmanship and conduct themselves in a respectful manner throughout the Event.

• Any participant found engaging in dangerous, disruptive, abusive, or inappropriate behaviour may be removed from the Event without refund.

• Participants shall not damage public property or interfere with the safe operation of the Event.

• The Organisers reserve the right to modify the event schedule, venue, route, or programme should circumstances require.

PARTICIPANT RESPONSIBILITIES

• Participants are responsible for ensuring that they are physically fit and medically capable of participating in the Event.

• Participants should wear suitable sports attire and footwear appropriate for running.

• As the Event promotes environmental sustainability, participants are encouraged to minimise waste, avoid littering, and dispose of rubbish responsibly.

• Participants must comply with all applicable laws, regulations, and venue rules throughout the Event.

• Participants are responsible for safeguarding their own personal belongings.

SAFETY & MEDICAL ADVISORY

• While every reasonable precaution will be taken to ensure participants’ safety, participation in the Event is entirely at the participant’s own risk.

• Participants are strongly encouraged to undergo a medical check-up before participating if they have any existing medical conditions or health concerns.

• Participants who feel unwell before or during the Event should immediately stop and seek assistance from Event Officials or the designated medical personnel.

• The Organisers reserve the right to remove any participant who is deemed medically unfit to continue for the safety of the participant and others.

PHOTOGRAPHY & MEDIA CONSENT

• By participating in the Event, participants consent to being photographed, filmed, or recorded during the Event.

• The Organisers reserve the right to use any photographs, videos, audio recordings, or other media taken during the Event for publicity, promotional, educational, reporting, archival, or commercial purposes without further notice or compensation.

PERSONAL DATA PROTECTION

• Personal information collected during registration will be used solely for the administration, management, and promotion of the Event.

• The Organisers may share participants’ information with authorised service providers, collaborating organisations, or sponsors where necessary for event operations.

• All personal data shall be processed in accordance with the Personal Data Protection Act 2010 (PDPA) of Malaysia.

CANCELLATION, POSTPONEMENT & FORCE MAJEURE

• The Organisers reserve the right to postpone, modify, suspend, or cancel the Event due to circumstances beyond their reasonable control, including but not limited to severe weather, natural disasters, public health emergencies, or government directives.

• Participants will be informed of any significant changes through the Organisers’ official communication channels.

• Unless otherwise determined by the Organisers, registration fees shall remain non-refundable in the event of postponement or cancellation.

• The Organisers shall not be liable for any additional costs incurred by participants, including transportation, accommodation, or other personal expenses.

LIABILITY

• Participation in JB Neon x UTM Fun Run  is entirely voluntary.

• Participants acknowledge and accept all risks associated with participation in the Event.

• The Organisers shall not be responsible for any loss, theft, or damage to participants’ personal belongings before, during, or after the Event.

• Participants agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Organisers, sponsors, collaborating organisations, volunteers, officials, venue owners, and partners against any claims arising from their participation in the Event.

ORGANISERS’ RIGHTS

• The Organisers reserve the right to amend these Terms & Conditions, the Event programme, venue, schedule, route, or participant entitlements whenever necessary.

• The Organisers reserve the right to refuse entry or remove any participant who fails to comply with these Terms & Conditions or whose conduct is considered unsafe, inappropriate, or detrimental to the Event.

• The Organisers reserve the right to use any photographs, recordings, or footage of the Event for future promotional purposes.

• All decisions made by the Organisers regarding the Event, including participant eligibility, event operations, and interpretation of these Terms & Conditions, shall be final and binding.

• Participation in JB Neon x UTM Fun Run constitutes full acceptance of these Terms & Conditions.
