Balai Ikhtisas Malaysia (BIM) was established in 1973 with the assistance of the Commonwealth Foundation as the national umbrella body representing Malaysia’s professional community. Originally formed to unite professions recognised under Acts of Parliament, BIM has since expanded its membership to include emerging and developing professional disciplines that are in the process of obtaining formal recognition by the relevant authorities.
