关于活动 About the Event

「光育慈善行」是一项结合健康、公益、社区与教育的慈善活动，由 光育华文小学校友会与居林中央狮子会联合主办。

继2025年成功举办后，今年我们再次携手举办这项活动，并迎来一个特别的里程碑——活动将首次来到光育华小 Batu Kawan 新校舍举行。 

虽然新校舍已经逐步准备就绪，但要为孩子们打造更完善的学习环境，仍需要教学器材、多媒体设施、电脑、图书等资源。本次活动所筹得的善款，将用于支持学校进一步完善教学设施与学习环境。

因此，今年我们不只希望大家来「走一场慈善行」，更希望邀请校友、家长、学生、企业及社会大众，真正走进光育的新校园，一起看看光育的新家。

除了约5–6公里的慈善行，今年更加入 慈善义卖会 Charity Bazaar，让大家完成慈善行后，可以继续留在校园参与义卖、享用美食、欣赏节目，与家人朋友一起度过一个有意义的星期六。

The Kuang Yu Charity Walk & Charity Bazaar brings together health, community, charity and education.

This year marks a special milestone as we welcome everyone to the new SJK(C) Kuang Yu campus in Batu Kawan.

Join us for a relaxing 5–6 km charity walk, then stay on for our Charity Bazaar, food, activities and live programmes until 2:00 PM.

Every step and every contribution helps us create a better learning environment for our children.

1. Acceptance

By registering for the Kuang Yu Charity Walk 2026 ("the Event"), you confirm that you have read, understood and agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions and any further instructions issued by the Organisers.

2. Nature of the Event

2.1 The Event is a non-competitive community charity walk. There is no timing, ranking or prize for finishing position. 2.2 Net proceeds are coordinated by the Kuang Yu Alumni Association to support SJK(C) Kuang Yu in equipping its new campus with teaching facilities. 2.3 Registration fees are event participation fees and are not donations. No tax-deductible receipt (Section 44(6), Income Tax Act 1967) will be issued for registration fees.

3. Eligibility

3.1 The Event is open to the public. 3.2 Participants aged [12] and below must be registered by, and walk with, a parent or guardian aged 18 or above, who accepts these Terms on their behalf. 3.3 Participants with any medical condition that may be affected by physical activity should consult a doctor before registering.

4. Registration & Fees

4.1 Registration is via Ticket2U only and closes when slots are fully taken. 4.2 Fee: [RM 55 per participant]. Platform or payment processing charges, if any, are borne by the participant. 4.3 A registration is confirmed only upon successful payment and receipt of a confirmation email from Ticket2U. 4.4 All fees are strictly non-refundable and non-transferable under any circumstances, including non-attendance, injury, illness, change of personal plans, removal from the Event, or postponement/cancellation of the Event (see Section 9). 4.5 Participants are responsible for the accuracy of the details submitted (name, contact number, T-shirt size). Changes after registration closes cannot be guaranteed.

5. Event Kit (T-shirt & Goodie Bag)

5.1 Each confirmed participant is entitled to one Event T-shirt, one goodie bag and a souvenir. 5.2 T-shirt sizes are as selected at registration. Size exchange is not permitted after registration closes or at collection. 5.3 Kit collection: [14 & 15 Nov 2026, 1pm-6pm at Starbucks Juru R&R DT's 2nd Floor located (2, Lrg Setia Sentral 2, Pusat Perniagaan Setia Sentral, 14000 Perai, Pulau Pinang. https://share.google/laAhPuKBpDU6x3f2y)]. Participants must present their Ticket2U confirmation (e-ticket / QR code) to collect. A representative may collect on your behalf with your e-ticket. 5.4 Registrations received after the T-shirt production cut-off may receive a T-shirt of a different size or no T-shirt, as announced at the time of registration.

6. Parking & Travel

6.1 Parking at the venue is limited. Participants are encouraged to car-pool and arrive early. The Organisers are not responsible for participants' travel to or from the venue.

7. Health, Safety & Conduct

7.1 You confirm that you are medically fit to take part. You participate entirely at your own risk and take full responsibility for your own health, safety and personal belongings throughout the Event. 7.2 Participants must follow all instructions from the Organisers, marshals, police, RELA and medical personnel, and must stay within the designated route. 7.3 The route uses public roads. Roads may not be fully closed to traffic. Participants must exercise caution and obey traffic marshals at all times. 7.4 Participants must reach the finish point by 8:30 AM. Route support and marshals will be withdrawn after this time. 7.5 Prohibited: bicycles, scooters, skateboards, roller blades, drones, pets, alcohol, illegal substances, and any item that may endanger others. 7.6 As an eco-themed event, participants are asked to use the water stations and bins provided and not to litter along the route. 7.7 The Organisers reserve the right to remove from the Event any participant who behaves in a manner that is unsafe, disruptive or contrary to these Terms, without refund.

8. Medical Assistance

8.1 Basic first-aid and ambulance support will be available on the day. Participants who feel unwell should stop and seek assistance from the nearest marshal. 8.2 If a participant requires medical attention, the Organisers may arrange transport to a medical facility. Any treatment costs beyond on-site first aid are the participant's responsibility.

9. Weather, Postponement & Cancellation

9.1 The Event will proceed rain or shine. In the event of lightning, severe weather, flooding, haze, public health directives, government order, or any circumstance beyond the Organisers' control, the Organisers may delay, shorten, modify the route, postpone or cancel the Event. 9.2 No refund of registration fees will be made in any such case. Where reasonably possible, the Organisers will announce a replacement date and registrations will carry over. 9.3 All announcements will be made via the Organisers' official Facebook page [and WhatsApp channel]. Participants are responsible for checking updates before the Event.

10. Lucky Draw

10.1 Every confirmed participant is entered into the lucky draw [with the number/bib provided in the event kit]. 10.2 Winners must be present in person at the time of the draw to claim prizes. 10.3 Prizes are non-exchangeable and non-transferable, and cannot be converted to cash. The Organisers' decision on all lucky draw matters is final. 10.4 Prizes such as vehicles are handed over as-is; road tax, insurance, registration and any transfer costs are borne by the winner.

11. Liability & Indemnity

11.1 To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Organisers, co-organisers, sponsors, volunteers and their agents shall not be liable for any injury, illness, death, loss or damage to property arising from participation in the Event, however caused. 11.2 The Organisers do not provide any insurance coverage for participants. Participants are solely responsible for their own personal accident and medical insurance and are strongly advised to arrange their own coverage before the Event. 11.3 You agree to indemnify the Organisers against any claim arising from your breach of these Terms or your conduct at the Event.

12. Photography, Video & Publicity

12.1 The Event will be photographed, filmed and may be live-streamed. By participating, you consent to your image, likeness and voice being captured and used by the Organisers and their media partners for event coverage, reporting, fundraising and promotional purposes, in any media, without compensation. 12.2 Participants who do not wish to be featured should inform the Organisers in writing before the Event; however, incidental appearance in crowd footage cannot be excluded.

13. Personal Data

13.1 Personal data collected through registration will be used for Event administration, safety, communication and post-event reporting, in accordance with the Personal Data Protection Act 2010. 13.2 Data may be shared with Ticket2U, the co-organiser, and service providers strictly for Event purposes. Data will not be sold to third parties. 13.3 By registering you consent to receive Event-related communications via email, SMS or WhatsApp.

14. Sponsors & Booths

14.1 The Organisers may display sponsor branding at the venue, on the route, on the Event T-shirt and on Event materials. Participation constitutes acceptance of this. 14.2 Booth vendors operate independently. Purchases from booths are between the participant and the vendor.

15. General

15.1 The Organisers reserve the right to amend these Terms, the route, the programme, the flag-off time and the kit contents without prior notice. The version published on the Organisers' official channels at the time of the Event prevails. 15.2 Registration slots are limited to 2,000. The Organisers may close registration at any time once slots are filled. 15.3 In case of any dispute, the Organisers' decision is final. 15.4 These Terms are governed by the laws of Malaysia. In the event of inconsistency between the English and Chinese versions, the English version prevails.
