Details

As Chinese families increasingly live, work and invest across borders, their family members and wealth may span Mainland China, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Singapore and other jurisdictions. At the same time, Malaysian and Singaporean families may also hold businesses, investments or other assets in China. This creates complex considerations around succession planning, taxation, tax residency, Common Reporting Standard (CRS) and cross-border asset ownership.

This webinar brings together Hong Kong legal/trust and China tax perspectives to explore the practical issues practitioners should identify before advising or structuring cross-border family wealth. Walk away with practical insights to identify cross-border risks, ask the right questions and better advise China-connected HNW families.

5 KEY DISCUSSION AREAS :

01 | FAMILY & TAX RESIDENCY

How nationality, tax residency and family mobility affect cross-border wealth and succession planning.
02 | LEGAL OWNERSHIP & STRUCTURING
Understanding ownership, control and beneficial ownership across family members, companies and offshore structures.
03 | HONG KONG TRUST & SUCCESSION

The role of Hong Kong trusts and structures in wealth protection, succession and family continuity.
04 | CROSS-BORDER TAX & REPORTING

Key considerations on China tax, CRS, source of wealth and reporting across jurisdictions.
05 | CHINA ASSETS & SUCCESSION

Considerations for China-based businesses, equities, property, wills and probate.
