30TH MT, KINABALU INTERNATIONAL CLIMBATHON 2016 will be organized at Mt. Kinabalu, Sabah on 16th October 2016 (Sunday).

Please be informed that the Mt. Kinabalu International Climbathon will be held on the 16 October this year with a modifications to the route and for only 120 participants, despite initial proposals to postpone the event due to the earthquake and current economic conditions. Participation would be by invitation to Elite runners for the summit race only that will start and ends at Kinabalu Park.
"The Adventure Series which uses the Masilau trail cannot take place because the trail has been badly damaged by the earthquake last year." The limit on the number of participants is imposed as evaluation needs to be conducted on the first few months after the opening of the summit trail to make way for improvement for safety of participants would be the top priority. The participating numbers would be adjusted from year to year.
- The invitation will be for runners that has participated and completed the summit race within the time in the Climbathon 2013 or 2014.
- Or completed in any of a recognisable mountain or adventure race event that has a race route reaching up to or beyond 1500 meters (with proof of results).
- Or recommended (in writing) by their country's national mountain race / athletic body or any other organisation that the Climbathon organiser will recognise.
If you have the above criteria, please email the documents or results to us to be approved by the technical committee. Then we will send you the entry form for you to fill in and bank-in the entry fee of RM200 that will include your finishing medals, t-shirt and certificates only. Transport and lodging is under your own arrangements.
