Are you a marathon lover? But at the same time, looking for something more fun than the usual marathons?

We believe AK Balloon Run is the right choice for you. After successfully held this run last two years which attracted numbers of runner to participate, the fuchsia themed run packed with balloons is making its comeback this year in KL City Centre on 28^th August.

What is special about this run is that runners are required to run with 4 balloons tied to their body, which they have to carry throughout the whole race until the finish line.

1.0 Categories & registration fees

There are 6 categories opened for this marathon:

A – Men’s Open (13 years old and above)

B – Women’s Open (13 years old and above)

C – Men’s Veteran (45 years old and above)

D – Men’s International (13 years old and above)

E – Women’s International (13 years old and above)

F – Family Fun Run (2 Adults + 1/2/3 kids)

Registration fee for all individual categories is RM55 (7km) while family fun run is RM125 for one family (5km). Please take note that the minimum age to participate in the individual categories is 13 years old as of 28^th August 2016.

2.0 Entitlements 

Every registered runner would get a sling bag, race bib, dri-fit race shirt, and balloons. Upon finishing the race, runners will be rewarded with a medal and e-certificate.

2.1 Race Shirt Measurements 

Official race shirt is presented by Ultron, with dri-fit material. Size range from XS to XXL, which is first come first serve basis and while stock lasts. Please refer to the chart above for the measurement.

2.2 Race Bibs 

Race bibs provided are divided into different colours to match the different categories:-

• Blue – Men’s Open 7km
• Red – Women’s Open 7km
• Yellow – Men’s Veteran 7km
• Green – Men’s International 7km
• Purple – Women’s International 7km
• Green – Family Fun Run 5km

3.0 Race Kit Collection 

Race kit collection will be on 26^th & 27^th August at Spanish Steps, Level 3 @ Avenue K from 12pm to 9pm. Runners must print and bring along their confirmation slip for verification during the collection.

4.0 Route Maps 

Runners will run through the epicentre of Golden Triangle passing the iconic landmark of Malaysia, Petronas Twin Towers, Jalan Pinang, Jalan Binjai and Jalan Mayang. Runners will back to Avenue K again for the finish line which is located at Jalan Ampang.

5.0 Prizes 

Many cash and voucher prizes are prepared by the organizer for each category. 10 cash prizes are ready to be win for Category A & B and 3 cash & voucher prizes for category C – F.

6.0 Mechanics

Each participant will get 4 balloons, which are to be tied to any part of the body. It is compulsory for them to carry all the 4 balloons throughout the whole race up until the finish line.

The balloons are not meant for decoration, each balloon represents 10 seconds. Losing each balloon during the race incur time penalties.

Example: Runner A clocks at 20 mins 30 seconds but he only has 2 balloons left at the end of the race. His final time would be 20 mins 50 seconds (as 2 balloons represents 20 seconds).

1. Note that participants must be clear of which category they are eligible to join. CloudHAX has no responsibility to exchange or refund any ticket sold.

2. All participants will be handed 4 balloons before the run.

3. All balloons are to be tied to any part of the body and carrying the balloons throughout the run is compulsory.

4. Each balloon will represent 10 seconds. Therefore any balloons missing when the participant crossed the finishing line, 10 seconds per balloon will be added to the official time for each balloon.

Example : Runner A clocks 20 minutes 40 seconds and has 3 balloons with him. The final time will be 20 minutes 50 sec.

5. No replacement of balloons will be given under any circumstances during the run.

6. All judging decisions by the organiser is final.

7. E-certs timing will be issued based on the official time each participant clocks, excluding the penalty of the balloon timing.

8. For family category, minimum 3 and maximum 5 members per family. Strictly only for parents and children under 12 years old.

9. For family category, at least 3 (father, mother & kid) in the family must complete the race together. Otherwise they will be disqualified.

10. Individual category participants will receive 1 goodie bag, 1 dry fit race shirt, 1 race bib with timing chip, 1 electronic certificate and top 1200 finishers for the overall event will receive medals.

11. Family category participants will receive 1 goodie bag, 4 dry fit race shirts, 4 race bibs, 1 electronic certificate and 2 medals.

12. Registration is not transferable and registration fees is non-refundable.
