Reading Art will be organized at The Space @ 212 Beach Street on 29th July 2016 - 28th August 2016 (Friday - Sunday).

* For more information, please visit this website http://georgetownfestival.com/event/reading-art/

Can art be read? Reading Art is an unconventional exhibition that explores a possible collaboration between visual art and literature. In the exhibit, artwork by Ch’ng Kiah Kiean is originally hidden from view, and visitors are first asked to interpret poems or text based on the art, before viewing the artwork itself.

Ch’ng Kiah Kiean is no stranger to the Penang art scene and is the founder of Urban Sketchers Penang. He also has exhibited in Taiwan, Hong Kong and Malaysia, and has been featured in various national and international publications. Reading Art is Kiah Kiean’s first collaboration with three writers: Skypie Chew (Chinese poet), Koay Su Lyn (English poet) and Ooi Kok Hin (Malay poet). All of them are Penangites.
