The 1st ever epic and unforgettable collaborative concert
KUALA LUMPUR, August 2016 – Internationally renowned electric violinist, Dennis Lau embarks on his next milestone, his first ever large scale concert entitled “DENNIS LAU & FRIENDS, THE PHOENIX RISING” on the 22nd October 2016, Saturday at Mega Star Arena. Known for his passion in music and his great violin repertoire, Dennis Lau sets on a new dimension to showcase great talents to 2000 fans in his concert and unveiling his new masterpiece, The Phoenix Violin.
“DENNIS LAU & FRIENDS, THE PHOENIX RISING” concert has a mixed ensemble, showcasing great artists which he has collaborated with over the years, like Ning Baizura, Syafinaz Selamat, Atilia, Soo Wincci, Jimmy Sax and many more. With Jennifer Thompson being the show’s producer, this concert’s lineup exhibits a dynamic collaborative mix from music, to performing arts that is sure give great musical showmanship.
The Phoenix Violin
Handcrafted by the renowned Irish instrument maker, Alistair Hay, who has built instruments for world-famous musicians such as Steve Vai and Wang Lee Hom, “The Phoenix Violin" was Alistair’s first ever violin project. Made out of carbon fiber due to it’s lightness, this violin is customized to embody Dennis. According to Alistair, “We are not building an instrument, but more like a suit and masterpiece where it has to fit perfectly.”
On the subject of the Phoenix, Dennis Lau mentioned that “The phoenix is a respectable symbol, known I envision new ways to inspire the younger generation in music and to showcase the diversity of the instrument. It has come to a point where I need to bring my career to new heights and start nurturing and empowering younger music talents, by providing a platform and opportunity to flourish in the music industry.” for renewal, strength and resistance which represents the path of my career and life”.
