The concept of Miss & Mrs Malaysia Kebaya is a cultural based beauty pageant which runs every year in most states around Malaysia. 
It is founded by Mr Jason Hee and co-organiser Mr Darwish Roslee to promote tourism, cultural diversity and create harmony with regards to the different cultural backgrounds of people in Malaysia
Miss & Mrs Malaysia Kebaya 2016 had its first audition on the 20th May 2016 at Scott Garden and the second audition was held on the month of June 2016. A total of 80 ladies auditioned for the pageant. 
Since then the contestant were exposed to various activities such as grooming class and also did Kebaya fashion shows at malls during the Raya season to promote cultural awareness and bring back the nostalgia of the Kebaya fashion. They were trained by Ms Eileen Young and Mr Valentino.
