With her debut album Guantanamera, Yang Xiao Ping stamped her mark among fans of pop songs. Hits such as Yue Er Xiang Ling Meng, Mei Jiu Jia Ka Fei, Meng Xing Bu Liao Qing, Jin Ye Yu Meng Meng and Hou Hui Ai Shang helped her rise in popularity. Yang's distinctive voice and emotional singing style helps put her apart from the rest, and her fanbase covers not only Malaysia and Singapore but also Hong Kong, Taiwan, Europe and the US. 

Huang Ching Yuan first made his mark in the 60s and has long been recognised as among the more popular Mandarin pop singers from that era. Singaporean by birth, Huang (or as his name is sometimes shown on record sleeves as Wong Ching Yian) began singing and performing in talent shows at the age of seven. He still performs at lounge shows in Singapore although these days, he spends as much time acting as manager for some younger singers. 

Huang's voice is still robust and his delivery still smooth—and he is especially known for his sentimental songs. His career that spanned nearly 40 years has seen him recording over 800 songs. But he is also best known for having ushered in the “a go go” era and having helped to discover the popular instrumental band, The Stylers. He performed with the band throughout the 70s. That period was also when Sony launched its first colour TV in Singapore—and Huang was asked to help promote it. He appeared in a TV advertisement, performing live in front of a range of Sony colour TVs.
