“The most heinous and the most cruel crimes of which history has record have been committed under the cover of religion.” — Mahatma Gandhi (1869-1948)

Israel-Palestine conflict has sparked "Jews vs Muslims” propaganda and has resulted in the increase number of hate crimes against Muslims and Jews across the world. According to 2014 Anti-Discrimination League survey found that more than 60 percent of Malaysians exhibited anti-Semitic beliefs in social and economic circumstances, making Malaysia the most anti-Semitic country surveyed in Asia outside of the Arab World.

The Israel-Palestine conflict has sparked a "Jews” vs “Muslims” polemical divide and might contribute the increased number of hate crimes against Muslims and Jews across the world.

This LIVE discussion will explore mechanisms and solutions to bridge the sectarian divide that is based on religious, racial, ethnic and national identities that further destructs the humanity.

Special Speaker: Maren Mantovani

Maren Mantovani is the international Relations Coordinator for the Stop the Wall Campaign and the International Outreach Coordinator for the Land Defense Coalition, and is on the Secretariat of the Palestinian Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) National Committee.

Specifically, her areas of specialty are: women's rights / issues, land and water rights and the link to environmental issues, south-south solidarity, and the legal aspects of the Palestine-Israel issue.
