Whether you run a seed, early or growth-stage startup, or whether you are an SME business owner, raising capital to grow your business could always be more efficient. In an economy where over 90% of businesses are SMEs, equity crowdfunding (ECF) has widened opportunities for Malaysian businesses to access capital, helping to expand the playing field, making it fairer and simpler for more businesses to compete and grow.
According to The Edge Malaysia, local ECF and peer-to-peer financing platforms had collectively raised RM432 million as of June 2019. The funds, raised since 2015 from over 12,000 investors, benefited more than 1,200 small businesses.
