Details

Floating LNG (FLNG) takes liquefaction technologies into a floating production system which can be located close to offshore gas fields. It is not a new idea and has been under consideration for more than 20 years, but new technology, increasing global demand for energy and sharpened investment appetite have spurred numerous FLNG projects. There are a number of technological, commercial and regulatory challenges which have been the subject of study, design development and testing.

Currently there is a major resurgence in FLNG – the first FLNG vessels are under construction and scheduled to be deployed over the next few years. This course is therefore a timely event for all those interested in this emerging technology and its associated challenges.

Key Learning Objectives
- IDENTIFY the advantages and challenges of an FLNG facility compared with onshore LNG
- OBTAIN a thorough understanding of the design drivers for the overall vessel, topside, hull and mooring systems
- UNDERSTAND the physical properties of LNG and typical specifications for production and trading
- EXAMINE the technical components required to establish a FLNG operational system including gas treating,
liquefaction, storage, transfer, offloading
- DETERMINE equipment considerations for FLNG - subsea, pipeline, topsides, storage, vessel design
- DISCOVER design challenges involved in producing LNG offshore
- APPRECIATE safety, risk assessment and integration aspects of LNG production on a floating facility
- UNDERSTAND other operations involved in the LNG supply chain including shipping, storage, receiving terminals
and regasification

Who Should Attend
This program is a valuable, detailed insight into FLNG design, technology, layouts, interfaces, integration and installation. It will benefit:
