Mouth Cancer Awareness Month (MCAM) 2026 Fun Run/Walk/Ride

Event Description
Oral Cancer Research & Coordinating Centre (OCRCC), together with 19 partner agencies consisting of Ministry of Health, Professional Associations, NGOs, Public and Private Universities has taken the initiative to organise the launching of Mouth Cancer Awareness Month (MCAM) 2026 Fun Run/ Walk/ Ride as part of the event for Mouth Cancer Awareness Month (MCAM).

MCAM is held to increase awareness among the Malaysian public on mouth cancer, its risk factors, signs and symptoms as well as early detection and preventive measures. The theme for this year’s awareness month is #SpotTheSigns.StopMouthCancer.
 This year's launching will be held at the Dataran Dewan Bandaraya Kuala Lumpur (DBKL), Kuala Lumpur. Participant can choose the 3km, 5km or 7km route during the physical event.

The MCAM 2026 also include the virtual run/ walk/ ride challenge which will cover a distance of 10km to be completed in 1 week (7 days). This event is open to all regardless of age. Feel free to run or walk at your own pace.

Terms and conditions

1. Mouth Cancer Awareness Month (MCAM) 2026 Fun Walk/ Run/ Ride is organized by Oral Cancer Research & Coordinating Centre (OCRCC), Faculty of Dentistry, Universiti Malaya and supported by Oral Health Program, Ministry of Health (MOH), Angkatan Tentera Malaysia (ATM), Cancer Research Malaysia (CRM), My Starfish Foundation (MSF), Malaysian Association Dental Public Health Specialist (MADPHS), Malaysian Association of Oral Maxillofacial Pathology & Medicine (MAOPM), Malaysian Private Dental Practitioners' Association (MPDPA); Malaysian Dental Association (MDA), Malaysian Dental Students’ Association (MDSA), Nasopharyngeal Carcinoma Society of Malaysia (NPCSM), National University of Malaysia (UKM), Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM), Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM), Islamic Science University of Malaysia (USIM), International Medical University (IMU), MAHSA University (MAHSA), SEGi University (SEGi) and Penang International Dental College (PIDC) (“Organiser”). 
2. The event is open to all regardless of gender and age.
3. The purpose of this event is to raise awareness among the Malaysian public on mouth cancer, its risk factors, signs and symptoms as well as early detection and preventive measures. The theme for the awareness month is ‘#SpotTheSigns.StopMouthCancer'.
4. For the physical event, participants can choose a 3KM, 5KM or 7KM route challenge surrounding the major KL road around Dataran DBKL.
5. For the virtual event, participants can either run the 10km within a day, or run/walk for a few km a day, accumulate the evidences to a total of 10km, which MUST be done within 7 days.
6. All participants are to ensure that all information submitted for the purpose of registration are complete and accurate.
7. Your participation is only CONFIRMED when payment of the registration fees is successfully made to Ticket2U.com.my.
8. By confirmation of payment, the participants agree to abide by the rules and regulations set forth by the Organiser. 
9. All entries are NOT TRANSFERABLE, REFUNDABLE NOR DEFERRABLE.
10. Upon confirmation of participation, changes to the category or other details will not be entertained.
11. The Organiser reserves the right to limit, accept or reject any entries without prior notice and reasons.
12. The Organiser reserves the right to close entries before deadline without any notice or when the quota of the run/walk is full.
13. Participants are encouraged to post photos onto their Instagram or Facebook accounts along with the following hashtags: #SpotTheSigns.StopMouthCancer; #mcaw2026. Tag us to tell us about your virtual run experience.
14. Participants who will be joining the physical event, may collect your entitlement [t-shirt(s)] on site (1st February 2026). Alternatively, collection of the t-shirt(s) can also be done on Thursday (29th Jan) and Friday (30th Jan) during working hours (9am till 3pm) and Saturday (31st Jan - 9am till 12pm) at Oral Cancer Research & Coordinating Centre (OCRCC), Level 7 Dental Specialist & Research Tower, Faculty of Dentistry, Universiti Malaya, 50603 Kuala Lumpur.
15. For participants not joining the physical event, t-shirt(s) will be shipped to participants within 4 weeks after the campaign ended via courier by the Organiser.
16. T-shirt(s) will be shipped directly to the registered mailing address provided by the participant during registration. Please provide an accurate mailing address. Any additional cost incurred due to the return of parcel from the courier company or failure to deliver are to be borne by the participant. 
17. In the case where participants would like to make an address change once registration has been confirmed, additional charges will be incurred.
18. The T-shirt size is strictly based on the size selected by the participant during registration, any request for size change will not be entertained.
19. If there is a return of parcel during the shipment of entitlement due to whatever reason, upon request, the Organiser will arrange to resend the parcel but the delivery charges will be borne by participants.
20. Any notice sent to the email address registered with the Organiser shall be deemed as received by the participant.
21. If the participant provides any information that is untrue, inaccurate, outdated or incomplete, or if the Organiser has grounds to believe that such information is untrue, inaccurate, outdated or incomplete, the Organiser may at any time suspend, revoke, cancel or terminate the participant's registration for the event or entitlement and fees will not be refunded.
22. The Organiser will not entertain nor be in any way responsible for any disputes arising from incomplete or inaccurate entry details in the registration form.
23. Submission of the evidence/result of the walk/run/ ride must be done before 1 March 2026. 
24. The registered parties affirm that they have read, understood and fully agreed to the terms and waiver, and they will give up substantial rights, including the rights to sue and to release all liability to the greatest extend allowed by law.
