ABOUT BLOOM
In 2001, Pastor Sandra Chin held the very first Bloom session with just 9 college students in her home. Now 16 years into its inception, Bloom is Act’s annual women’s conference that welcomes hundreds of women every year to celebrate the joys of being a woman in every season in life.
Behind its pretty façade, Bloom carries a message of purpose—that God has a plan and a future for each of His daughters.
Too often, the Asian church overlooks the importance of celebrating the role of women. Some women feel that they don’t have anything worth saying. Our desire is to empower women to be confident in who God has called them to be— that they can have a brilliant mind, be influential in the marketplace, and at the same time not be ashamed to embrace the finer things in life such as cooking, hosting and even keeping house.
TAKE 'EM LEMONS AND MAKE LEMONADE
We’re passionate about helping women find security in Christ. Women don’t have to feel threatened by one another, but can instead build solid friendships and find solace in each other through the realities of life. This year’s theme, Fearless—inspired by 2 Corinthians 4:8, recognises that life does throw curve-ball lemons at a woman. But instead of allowing them to leave a bitter sting, every woman needs to know that with Christ, she has the power to rise above her situations, turning her lemons into lemonade. Her stories and talents are God-given, and meant to be shared as an example for the next generation of young women.

In addition to powerful ministry sessions, each year Bloom features a number of fun, creative and value-adding workshops—such as the art of party planning, relationships, floral arrangement, whipping up 15-minute meals and more—that offer practical life skills.
Bloom is open to ladies aged 16 and above. To date, it has been held in Acts Church locations in Kuala Lumpur, Singapore, London, Bristol, Melbourne and Gaborone, Botswana.
